Unique Model Medical Education Program

Prospective physicians are taught from their first term according to the Mannheim Reformed Medical Science Curriculum (MaReCuM). This model medical education program is a focus-oriented medical degree course: The students qualify to practice as medical physicians, but at the same time they can obtain various additional qualifications during the course of their studies – e.g. in health economics or in research. This model education program is unique in Germany and is attracting considerable interest.

Medical Faculty Mannheim

Due to the rising student numbers in medical science in the 1960s, a decision was made to involve the municipal hospitals in training medical students. The Mannheim Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University was founded as a result.
