The urological clinic of the Mannheim University Teaching Hospital utilises its great expertise to diagnose and treat all diseases of the urine-producing and urine-conducting organs as well as the male reproductive organs. Professor Maurice Stephan Michel, the director of the clinic, was awarded the title of “Top physician 2018” in the specialist fields of prostate and urological tumours. The Mannheim University Teaching Hospital has also received many additional certifications and awards.

The centres of excellence focusing on urological oncology and functional urology ensure a high degree of specialisation in all such sectors.

The urological clinic specialises particularly in urological oncology and functional urology. Optimal medical care is achieved on the basis of interdisciplinary cooperation with medical experts from other specialist sectors for example in the Interdisciplinary Tumour Centre, regular symposia and further medical training courses. The wards are supervised by a permanent team of senior physicians so that as a rule in-patients have the same medical contact persons from the time of admission to being discharged from hospital.
