What is the Patient House?
The University Medical Centre Mannheim has developed an innovative and unique accommodation concept: the Patient House. In this interdisciplinary establishment, our patients find an environment which offers them a particularly high degree of privacy and comfort whilst also granting them the highest possible level of independence.
- Comfortable accommodation in single rooms (either in junior suites or comfort-class rooms)
- Proximity to examination and treatment rooms
- A multi-information centre for individual access to your appointments
- Accommodation for family members nearby
- Emergency treatment around the clock
Who is given accommodation in the Patient House?
Whether patients are admitted to the Patient House or are transferred there depends on the degree to which they need individual medical and nursing care. Patients must be able to reach the surgery on the ground floor of the Patient House without assistance. Patients receive nursing care from nursing staff who are available in the Patient House 24 hours a day. They can call for immediate help via an emergency call system on their wrist.
The Patient House has over 120 pleasantly furnished single rooms. All rooms have a separate en-suite bathroom, chairs and a cupboard with integrated refrigerator and safe. You have use of a television and radio as well as telephone and internet connection.
Every room offers overnight accommodation for one companion at an extra charge.
Throughout your stay in our Patient House you will have your meals in our restaurant. You can choose your food from our generous buffet. Your family and visitors are also welcome to eat with you in our restaurant.
As well as the restaurant, you will also find a cosy and inviting coffee bar and a relaxing patio on the ground floor.
The television is connected to a multi-information centre providing information about the house and hospital procedures as well as your personal appointments.
