The medical team of the neurological department treats their patients on the basis of the highest quality standards in medical science and nursing care. Professor Michael Platten, the director of the clinic, was awarded the title of “Top physician 2018” in the specialist field of brain tumours. The Mannheim University Teaching Hospital has also received many additional certifications and awards.

This honour awarded to the neurological department is further evidence of its outstanding expertise in neuro-oncology. Interdisciplinary cooperation with medical experts from other specialist sectors for example in the Interdisciplinary Tumour Centre, regular symposia and further medical training courses guarantee optimal medical care and treatment.

Epilepsy Centre

The epilepsy centre of the neurological department treats patients suffering from seizure disorders by means of state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures including video EEG monitoring, specialised MRT technologies (for example functional MRI), PET and neuropsychology.
